....I am writing because about 6 months ago, after doing a 20 day lemonade cleanse, I decided to go mostly raw for the same reason - I have a very slipped disc in my lower back (11 millimeters - yikes!) and before the cleanse, I could not stop taking prescription pain medication. Anytime I tried to stop, the pain and muscle stiffening was so severe, I had to start taking the pills again despite the knowledge that I was harming my body with those unnatural chemicals.

Ever since embarking on the cleanse and going mostly raw (maybe all raw someday - one step at a time!) I have not needed pain medication! I have experienced well-being beyond what I thought possible when in the midst of pill-taking. I have been able to keep muscle stiffness and nerve inflammation to a minimum with natural remedies such as juicing vegetables, taking magnesium supplements, exercise and avoiding caffeine drinks (I used to be a regular coffee drinker). The change is so significant, my husband who at first thought I was a bit loopy for trying out the raw lifestyle - is now a major supporter of my decision to be raw. I know he would love to see me go 100% raw so that I can reap the most benefits (even though he is not yet ready to give up the SAD diet for himself just yet).

First, I want to thank you for your website and your daily inspirational emails. Your advice has helped me carve a path for myself into the raw lifestyle - a world I did not even know existed 9 months ago!
